Our Story
A Company Built Around People
David Edsenga founded Giant Roofing & Exteriors with a vision to build an organization where talented, experienced people could come together to deliver high-quality roofing, support one another, and genuinely care about the work they do.

Bringing that vision to life meant bringing together the right people. Drawing on relationships developed throughout his career, David assembled a team of seasoned roofing professionals whose collective experience and commitment to doing things the right way have helped Giant establish itself as a trusted name in a short amount of time. That shared experience shapes how Giant approaches every project. The team takes the time to educate customers, helps them navigate the insurance process, provides honest guidance, and delivers the kind of follow-through customers want to tell their neighbors about.

Since opening its doors in 2025, Giant has made a significant impact across West Michigan's residential and multi-family roofing markets, providing comprehensive roofing, siding, gutter, and storm restoration solutions. That growth has extended beyond Michigan with the addition of a Kentucky branch, led by Josh McDonald.

No matter where Giant works, the foundation remains the same: good roofing starts with good people. We understand that a new roof is one of the biggest investments you can make in your home, and we take that responsibility seriously. Whether we're replacing a roof close to home or helping a community recover after a storm, our commitment doesn't change. We give people straight answers, recommend what makes sense, do quality work, and stand behind it. And when something isn't right, we make it right. Because doing right by our customers will always come first.

Founder
David Edsenga

David graduated from law school with degrees in both law and engineering. He spent 15 years as a private practice attorney before moving into an in-house role at a roofing company. This experience gave him a unique perspective on the industry and inspired him to build a company with a lasting legacy he could be proud of.

When David decided to take the leap and start his own company, Dusty was the first person he wanted by his side. Together, they set out to build Giant Roofing & Exteriors on an honest customer experience and a team of genuinely good people. David puts it as, “I've worked a lot of places, and to get to do this every day with some of my best friends is pretty special.”

For David, the heart of Giant goes back to why he became a lawyer in the first place: helping people solve problems. He brings that same mindset to roofing projects, finding solutions that have the customer's best interests in mind and alleviate the stress of a big home project.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. Whether they're golfing, playing pickleball, hiking, or playing pickup basketball, he loves staying active and making memories with his family.
Vice President
Dusty Martin

Dusty brings decades of sales and management experience in the landscaping industry, along with an entrepreneurial background that includes owning and operating multiple businesses. His career eventually led him to roofing, where he quickly became an integral part of a respected roofing company, serving as Vice President of Storm Restoration. Roofing has brought him full circle to his high school days, when building homes was one of his first jobs.

As a close business partner and friend of David, Dusty has helped build Giant Roofing & Exteriors into a company that stands apart by prioritizing a strong internal culture and an honest, customer-focused experience. As Vice President, he wears many hats, from investing in and training the sales team to climbing roofs for thorough inspections and helping source the best and safest materials for each project.

Outside of work, Dusty enjoys spending time with his kids and cheering them on in all their activities.
Project Coordinator
Josh McDonald

Josh manages and leads roofing and exterior services for Giant's Kentucky branch. With over a decade of prior experience in construction and custom building, he's made a big impact at Giant. When David and Dusty expanded into Kentucky, Josh quickly became a go-to person for projects, taking ownership of roofing sales and the customer experience as he worked his way up.

Josh is an extension of Giant's mission, making every customer feel valued and heard as they navigate roofing projects and the often-stressful insurance process. One of his favorite parts of the job is building relationships with homeowners and helping them find a solution that meets them where they are.

You can find Josh fishing, woodworking, or playing basketball with his son when he isn't inspecting roofs. He's been married to his wife, Michelle, for over 20 years and has been a resident of Jessamine County his entire life.
